Join us at Grey Towers National Historic Site for the Gifford Pinchot Micro Movie Workshop
In Collaboration with Black Bear Film Festival

Mission: Celebrating outdoor learning and nature appreciation via environmental storytelling on film. Together, we aim to inspire the conservationists of tomorrow!

Workshop: Saturday, July 12 at 1:00 PM

Are you ready to embark on a creative journey that explores the beauty and importance of our natural world? The Gifford Pinchot Micro Movie Workshop invites aspiring filmmakers of all ages to dive into the captivating realm of short films focused on environmental themes.

What You'll Learn:
Connecting with Nature: Explore your personal relationship with the environment.
Understanding Conservation: Reflect on what conservation and nature mean to you.
What Makes a Great Short Film? Discover the essential elements of making a micro short film and cinematic techniques.
Filmmakers will need to use their own technology for filming (phone or camera)

Participant films will be featured on the Black Bear Film Festival Short of the Week social media posts in July:

The workshop will begin with providing attendees with information about Grey Towers and how appreciation of natural spaces can lead to more conservation efforts. Filmmakers will then set out on the grounds to capture footage for their films. We will reconvene to discuss film concepts and support filmmakers in their process.
