Chris Sarandon
will be at Black Bear 2025
Chris Sarandon is an Academy Award-nominated actor whose diverse and celebrated career spans film, television, and stage. He is best known for his iconic roles as Leon in Dog Day Afternoon (Oscar nomination), Prince Humperdinck in The Princess Bride, and the seductive vampire Jerry Dandridge in Fright Night. He also provided the speaking voice of Jack Skellington in Tim Burton’s beloved classic The Nightmare Before Christmas. His more recent film credits include I Smile Back and Big Stone Gap.
On television, Sarandon has had recurring roles in Judging Amy, Stark Raving Mad, Felicity, ER, Law & Order, and Orange Is the New Black, and starred in Hallmark Hall of Fame’s A Tale of Two Cities.
On Broadway, his credits include Two Gentlemen of Verona, Nick & Nora, The Light in the Piazza, and Cyrano de Bergerac. Off-Broadway, he earned acclaim for his performances in Through a Glass Darkly and Lincoln Center Theater 3’s Preludes.
He is also the creator and host of the podcast Cooking by Heart, ranked among the top 3% in listeners worldwide. The show features celebrity guests sharing personal stories about the food they grew up with and the memories tied to those meals.
